Week 4 - 1st October

Before the start of bowling we held an emergency meeting to discuss how the committee intends to continue the league after the extremely sad passing of league secretary/treasurer Brian Johnson. In short, it was decided that the league would continue and that certain changes would be made to the committee. This included Dave Cooper taking the position of Secretary and Andie Burt becoming Treasurer. If you'd like to read the minutes of the meeting to see what was discussed, you can do so here.

When all the bowlers were on the lanes, we had 1 minute of clapping in honour of Brian. Thank you to everyone who participated in this and it was a nice way of appreciating and acknowledging just how much work he put into the league over the years.

Now onto the bowling itself. Some notable scores were:

Jeff Campbell 242, 205, 247 for a brilliant 694 series, Dave Cooper 238, 212 for a 638 series, Steve Lockwood 236, 201 with a 612, Darren Grimes 234 & 203, Mark Palmer 212, and Steve Ferguson 214, 207 (just missing out on a 600 by a pin.) Also a special mention to Max Slater who bowled a 257 game which included 9 strikes in a row, his most in a row ever.
